Judging from the massive ap* pearanco of the bob, it will be a very strong work, the timbers and castings composing it being of a most substantial character. The length of the bob is 43 feet, and the chamber in which it will work is 45 feet long, 18 feet high and 10 .
feet wide. It is.one of the largest or the longest under ground works on the field, perhaps in the colony. The ironwork weighs several tons and has been executed in an efficient manner by the firm of IJrice Bros. here.
