TRANSFERS OP SHARES, "1 T is hereby .notified, that, after the Ist o I January 1876, (he use of Impressed Stamps upon Transfers of Shares is compulsory but tranefers of shares may be stamped at a Stamp Office by the Commissioner or a Deputy Commissioner within one month, after execu* t;on without a fine. . '' Managers nud Secretaries of Companies Sharebrekers, and o'hers interested, are re' commended to -forward, without delay such forms of transfer as they may require to be improved, accompanied by the ueual requisilion and receipt from the Bank ef NeW'Zealand for amount thereof, less the authorized discount. Information mny be obtained at any Stamp Office, The provisions of the Act relating hereto are as follow :— " 47. (1.) Except where express provision is marie to the contrary, all duties are to be denoted by impressed stamps only."' " 102. No transfer of any share or shares of or m the stock or funds of any corporation, company, or society whatever in New Zealand sha 1 be registered, recorded, or entered int3F books of such corporation, company, or society, unless such transfer is duly stamped. 103. No instrument of sale or transfer of any share or shares shall be valid, either at law or in equity, unless the name «f the purchaser or transfereo is inserted therein at the time of or before the execution of the instrument of sale or transfer ; and, if any person executes a sale.note, transfer, contract-note, or other instrument of sale or transfer, in any manner, or for any purpose whatsoever, nn* less the name of the purchaser is inserted therein at the time or before the execution thereof, he shall forfeit a sum of not less than £20 or more than £100; and, if any such instrument is so made or signed, it shall be wholly and absolutely void and inoperative, and shall in no case be made available by th« insertion of a name or any other particulars afterwards; and the person selling or-trans-ferring such share shall not be divested of big interest therein, but shall remain liable thereon as if he had never sold or disposed ox the same. And if such person r is a licensed sharebroker, his license shall, on any conviction under (his section, be absolutely, for. ' feited, and he shall not thereafter be qualified to act as a broker, or to have a fresh license issued to him. ' . ' " 104. No shnrebroker, auctioneer, commission agent, or any other person shall be entitled to any brokerage, commission; or any other fee or reward in respect of the sale or transfer of any such share, unless the instrument of sale or transfer is 'tiled up with .all, necessary:particulars to make it a com* plete instrument, and is duly stamped.
