Sic, —Allow me through your columns to ask the Water Supply Committee-^ Whether the Turncock in their employ is allowed to take private work ? There are many out of work, and capable of performing' all work outside that official's duty. ■ That gentleman having charge of material' and premises belonging to the' Committee, it se,ems out of ;c place that he: should be allowed to use sudh for his own benefit, as well as enjoy a good salary.
