ALBURNIA.
Mr Grribble, the mine manager, crushed SOOlbs of specimens and picked stuff at the Moanatairi battery on (Saturday, -and retorting this morning obtained the splendid yield of 2500zs lldwts gold. Most of this parcel was obtained from the general stuff now being taken :6ut /of Allen's, Barclay's and Carpenter's only contributing a comparatively small quota. The' general stuff will be crushed next week, and by the time it is ready, for the mill it is probable that another parcel of picked stone will" be to' lhand. :The crushing is expected at least to.arerage two ounces to the ton< . Farrelly and party, being unable to make their tribute pay, have thrown it up, and Skeen and party have taken it up. The new tributers will - probably commence crushing at the Moanatairi battery to-day. Two or three parties will be down during the week.
