Presentation and Complimentary Supper to Mr W. Robinson.
A presentation by the companionship of the Thames Advertiser, and a complimentary supper by the Thames public were tendered yesterday to Mr W. Eobinson of the Thames Advertiser, who after a connection with that paper of eight years proceeds to-day to Auckland to enter on a new sphere of duties. It would be needless for us to attempt to describe the estimation in which Mr Eobinson is held by those who know him, nearly" every speaker at last night's banquet testified to his worth in a manner which showed plainly how much they regarded him ; and we fully believe that every one present in response to the Chairman's request sincerely wished Mr Robinson "God speed" when they drank, his health.
