(To the Editor of the Evening' Star.).. • . Sir—Mr"Wilkie.,Cullings,:'.theWhite. _' breasted Robbid Editor" o.f the ThaWea , Advertiser, doing ' duty for Kis "^egUar . dustman" at the Lmds for-the People meeting, informs his readers that " the platform was occupied by two persons— Mr Mcllhone and myself. The platform was occupied by the Mayor, the speakers,
and the representatives of the local press. For the occasion I was pressed into the service of the N.Z. Herald by Mr Skene, who was unable to attend. My business on the platform was to get the resolutions, &c. As Mr Mcllhone's occupation of public and private platforms is so common- an occurrence, I presume he will consider it quite unnecessary to explain his business there. —I am, &c, J. D. WICKHAM.
