Sir,—The semi-publicor private meeting of persons interested in acquiring a block - of land for themselves held last night; disclosed at a glance the. object of the . meeting, and confirmed what Mr Firth said at the Waste Lands Board, " That it was not the Thames miners or public they - were anxious about, but themselves," a peculiar position for a public man like Mr JBowo to be identified with.— lam, &c, FSBE SILICTOB.
