QUEEN OF THE MAY.
Crushing is proceeding at Bull'i battery for this mine in a satisfactory manner, and a cleaning tip after ten days' crushing was to take place to*day f from which amalgam equal to lOOozs gold wai_ expected to be obtained. At present 27 head are employed, but thistorce has not been employed ail the time. In the mine things are going on as usual, gold being, seen in the drives and winze.. Trevarthen and party have finished their' contract for driving on the reef. As yet ! the manager has not been bothered with water, incidental to the stoppage of the" pump, but he expects to be obliged to stop work in the bottom level by Wed- t nesday next, which, though stuff is still being-taken from the old level, may cause , the battery to make a temporary stop- .' page. .
