Waio-Karaka Drainage.
A meeting of the delegates appointed by. the different Waio-Karaka mining companies was held at the office of 3dx F. A. White, Shortland street, Auckland, yesterday to. consider the state of affairs in view of a break down of the Waio* Karaka Pumping Association. There were present—Messrs 0. J. Stone (in the chair), W. Weston, J. Brown, 11. McDonald, T. L. Murray, and S. Turtle. After some discussion — . • Mr Weston proposed " That the expense of repairing the breakage be borne proportionately by the four companies, viz., , Piako, Queen of Beauty, City of London, and Queen of the May, and that the cost of pumping, which was estimated at £350 per month, be paid in the following"proportion?, after deducting the. Crown Princess contribution: —Piako G.M.Co. ninety pounds (£9O), Queen of Beauty, ninety pounds (£9O), City of London, seventy-five pounds (£75), and Queen of the May seventy-five pounds (£75)." . This was carried unanimously.
