The assessed value of rateable properties in Christchurch this year is £180,362, being an increase of £32,651 on last year. The wet weather has again set in, and the prospects of the farmers are very bad.
It is stated on good authority thai railway communication between Christchurch and Dunedin will be established in about eight months. v
Three exceedingly valuable shorthorn cows and one bull, bred by Fantham, left by the Wellington yesterday for Mr Murray, of Masterton.
