Bye-law of the Council of the Borough of Thames, made under special order of the said Council, dated the day of , 1877, confirmed the J day of , 1877, and sealed with common seal of the said Council the day of , 1877. In pursuance of the powers vested in them under " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1866," the Council of the Borough of Thames ordain as follows, that is to sayThat for every license granted by the Council of the Borough of Thames, under the provisions of the 323 section o£ " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," there shall be paid to the Council of the Borough of Thames the sum of one pound one shilling (£1 Is). . Bye-laav No. 5. Bye-law of the Council of the Borough of Thames made by special order of the said Council on day of , 1877, confirmed the day of , 1877, and sealed with the common seal of the said Council the day of , 1877. In pursuance of the powers vested in them under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1876, Section 333. The Council of the Borough of Thames ordain as follows, that is to say—The ; word "slaughterhouse" shall, for the purpose of this Bye-law, mean and include the buildings, yards and premises in respect of which any license may be granted under such bye-law. 1. The slaughtering of sheep and cattle within the Borough is hereby prohibited except in slaughterhouses licensed by the Council of the Borough of Thames. 2. Any owner or occupier of premises may apply, to the Council for a license to use the same as a slaughterhouse, such application to be in writing in the form set out in Schedule No. 1 hereto, and to be lodged with the Town Clerk. 3. For each such license there shall be paid by the Licensee to the Borough Fund a fee of £25, and each license shall remain in force until the Ist day of March following tho date of such license. 4. Every licensed slaughterhouse shall be so kept clean and lime-washed that no noxious or injurious effects may ensue to the public from the use of such slaughterhouse. 5. Every Licensee shall give immediate notice in writing to the Town Clerk and to the Inspector of Slaughterhouses of any diseased animal being brought to auch licensed slaughterhouse for slaughter. 6. Every Licensee to the licensed premises shall admit at any hour of the day or night any officer of the Thames Borough Council or of the Armed Constabulary. 7. Every Licensee shall keep at all times, legibly written/with ink, a Register in a form to be obtained from the Town Clerk of all sheep and cattle slaughtered at his licensed premises with the brand or mark on each sheep or head of cattle, and shall, on the Monday in each week, furnish to the Town Clerk a copy of the entries madein such register during the then previous seven days. 8. There shall not be admitted into any licensed premises any animal which, from injury or other cause, would not, when killed, be fit for human food ; nor shall there be .so admitted the carcase of any animal unfit for human food. 9. No animal shall in such licensed premises be subjected to any pain not necessarily consequent upon or entailed by the act of slaughter. 10. Any person guilty of any offence of omission or commission against the Bye-law shall forfeit, aud pay a sum not exceeding £5. Schedule No. 1. No. day of . 187 . The Council of the Borough of Thames.
