The City of Sydney has arrived with the Australian portion of the mails. She leaves again in five hours. Had a stormy passage across, and lost three cattle overboard. She left Sydney on the 11th. The news is later than that brought by the Arawata, but it is unimportant.
The .bluestone centre arch of a new Catholic Church at Tumut gave way, carrying the scaffolding. Three men were frightfully mutilated. Gladman, 8.A., has been selected in England as training school Inspector of Schools for Victoria. Sales of salmon at 14s : wheat wanted at 5s sd; flour, £12 5s to £12 7s. Adelaide. Nominations for the Adelaide cup :— Spark, Painter, Barmaid, Impudence, Devastation, King Winter, Briseis, Fairy Scene, Elsie, Filibuster, Jack's the Lad, Aldinga, Repetition, Electricity, Aconite Deacon, Star, Glengarry, Lord Lyfcton, Mary Gladstone, and Fisherman. • Wheat, 5s 4d.
