Union Beach.-—Reported a parcel of specimens on Saturday evening 3 still good stone left in the face. The manager's report generally speaks hopefully of the mine, and everything is now going on well. Tokatea. —A small parcel of specimens reported from the stopes. lloyal Oak.—Some good picked stone from the Little and Good leader reported. The other parts of the mine are looking very satisfactory. Snowden's claim cut an auriferous lode on Saturday at nearly 400 feet in. They expect to get the shot of gold at once. At the Kapanga school G. McLeod, Esq., delivered the prizes to the children to-day at the request of the committee. F. Woollams, Esq., made some valuable
presents for the children. This is his usual kindly course where children are concerned.

Union Beach.—About 184 pounds of' specimens in hand—more looked for today. lona.—The water is decreasing rapidly in the shaft. The Palmerston commences work in the shaft on Monday. A manager is called for. An accident happened on the tramway to-day. A truck broke'away, seriously injuring a horse and a man.
