Monday.

Between December 9th and the 3rd instant 34 applications were made through the Dunedin Immigration Office for free passages to the colony.

At the Police Court this morning Edwin Wild was committed for trial for having at Clyde in 1874 stolen jewellery of the value of £30, and a bill of exchange for £150.

The Hon. Geo. McLean left for Weilington to-day. This day. The following are the twelve men who hare been selected from whom a team will be chosen to play the interprovincial match against Christchurch : — Boucb, Clarke, Cargill, Paramour, Mears, Morrison, Wellington, Nicholls, Eeade, Rhodes, Rose and Sutcliffe.
