BOAT ACCIDENT ON THE THAMES RIVER.

Paehoa, Thursday,

Mr Cook of the Thames, Mr and Mrs Reid and family, and some others were going down the river in a boat belonging to Mr Snodgrass this morning, and when nearing the wharf the boat struck on a snag, which made a hole in the boat below water mark. The boat quickly filled and went down. The occupants of the boat had a narrow escape, but* they were rescued by Messrs Mulgrove and Smith, having sustained no further injuries than a ducking, and the ladies and children a fright.
