A. frightful accident occurred at 7 o'olock on Wednesday morning at the Queen's Birthday Company's mine, JJunolly: Iv changing shift a miner named Alfred Pullen was landing from a skip at the surface when he slipped back down the shaft 400 ft. A lad in the employment of- Messrs Lloyd Brothers, Broadford, was bitten on the left finger by a black snake, while engaged in bringing in firewood. He at once cut the finger off mih an axe, and was immediately taken to Dr Purrier, who dressed the wound. He is now quite out of danger..
The schooner Postboy, 60 tons, frott Port McDonnell to Adelaide; capsized twelve miles from Crlenelg. Six bands were lost, including two passengers.
