QUEEN OF BEAUTY.
As the manager is anxious to get on with the opening out of the new.or JSo. 6 level, the employees have been working ' all the holidays with the.exception of on* or two days. The opening out of the chamber is proceeding in a satisfactory manner, and besides this work, the manager has three winzes in course of construe* tion from the No. 5 to connect with tho No. 6 as soon as it is opened out tar enough. Gold has been seen' in tho ; winaes, and there is every reason to be* lieve that the new level will be as rich if not richer than the No. 6 has been. Crushing has .been recommenced at the company's battery to-day, on stuff from the stopes and drives, and it is expected that it w.ill be kept going until the new level is opened out, which eveut will take place in a fortnight or three weeks', if nothing goes wrong, and then the battery will have an ample supply of quartz. .•'
