John Foster (a feeble old man) was charged with being drunk and incapable in Pollen street, Shortland, on Sunday the 26th inst.. The; defendant, who was quite drunk, said that he Had not harmed anyone, and that a few glasses::was nothing at Christmas time. The Bench; however, were inclined to take a different view of the matter and sent him to gaol for 24 hours without the option of a fine; The Court then rose.
