BLUFF.
Monday. The s.s. Arawata left Sandridge Pier at 2.15 p.m. on the 15th instant, proceeded to Port Philip Heads, and awaited the arrival*of the P. and O. s.s. Sumatra, 'already telegraphed off Cape Otway with the English mail. On the arrival of the above steamer at 7 p.m;, transhipped mails and proceeded on voyage. She cleared the heads at 8 p.m., and passed Swan Island at 1 p.m. on the following day; experienced light head winds and fine weather throughout the passage. Passed the Solanders at 4.37 p.m., and arrived off the Bluff at 9.45 p.m., on the 19th. On leaving Sandridge the Arawata steamed the distance between the lights in Hobson's Bay in lh 31min., the quickest time on record. She brings 52 saloon and 45 steerage passengers, and 375 tons of cargo for all ports. She sails for Dunedin at 10 a.m.
