AUCKLAND.
This day.
Messrs Fraser and Tinne had everything ready to mend the Cyphrenes crank shaft, which was broken on the passage from Lyttelton. The vessel arrived yesterday morning, was repaired, and left at 7.30 for Kandaru. The Government Inspector only licensed her to go there, not through. The Llewellyn arrived from Fiji. The Fiji Times says a man-o'-war was to leave New Caledonia early to annex the New Hebrides Group to France. The Royal Engineers are doing a large amount of surveying, and building a sea wall along the Levuka beach. A Fijian thief has been sentenced to thirty lashes. The Mission schooner Jubilee has been wrecked at the Windward Islands. No particulars to hand.
