Warner's claim started crushing fifty tons this evening. They anticipate I-3-ounces to the ton.
The Eoyal Oak commence crushing at the Whakaroa battery tomorrow. A payable return is expected. A trial crushing for Peters' claim realised over 1 oz per ton. The Tokatea reported a parcel of stone to-day. The Golden Point has a first rate show of pold in the leader; specimens were obtained yesterday. A large and influential requisition has has been presented to C. King, Esq., to stand for the Assembly for the district. The intelligence of the district is in favor of a local candidate. It is suggested that he should run with a popular candidate, when the Coromandel vote would be plumped.
