Insurance VTEW ZEALAND. GOVEBNMENT LIFE INSURANCE. I—The Government Life Insurance Department issues all desirable forms of Policies. The Payment of every Policy is guaranteed ly tJie Colony. Parti« cipatioH in Profits is authorised by the Legis lature to be given to Poliey-holdersi 2-Premium rates are lower than those of Private Companies. No Policy or Medical Pees charged. 4—All Policies are non-forfeit-able after one full annual payment to the full extent of their value, under a specjjjL regulation providing for the cbntinuance'in^' force of every Policy for the original amount, until the surrender-value of the Policy is exhausted in payment of premiums. s—Absolute Security from Loss —Insurers, after; having paid three full an* nual premiums, are guaranteed a cash surrender value of not less than 40 per cent, of the paid-up premiums; and if for any reason the premiums ere not paid when due, a paidup Policy will be issued, generally equal in amount to the premiums paid, and often much in excess. 6—Thirty days of grace aw allowed on all Eenewal Premiums. 7—Liberal conditions as to travel. ling and residence. ~ • B—Policies protected from Bankruptcy. —An Insurance Policy dFectfd-bY the Insured, Imafide on his own life, ia protected from bankruptcy or in.«oJvenry luws to a certain amount, which . increases with its duration. Thus, after it; has endured for two years, it is protected to the extent of £200; after five years, to £500; after seven years, to £1000; after ten years, to £2000. This protedion upplie* only iv favour of the personal representative of the Insured. 9—Married women tnay effect Policies, dispose of the money by will, as if single i and their Policies are protected from the debts of their husbands, according to duration, to amounts similar to those stated above. 10—Settlement Policies .^-Policie* effected for the benefit of the wife and children of the Insured arc absolutely protected from the claims of creditors to the • extent of £2000, provided that the premiums are payable during life, or any period not lees than seven years. If apportionment is not made at the time, it can be subsequently made by will. 11—Probate, &c, dispensed withj! —When a claim under a Policy does not exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense with the production of Probate or Letters of Administration, thus saving great expense to the representatives of the Insured. - 12—Prompt ..payment of Claimsj and no discount charged. ■.'.,- . .
