NO. 2 H.R.V.

The second competition for a doublebarrelled shot gun presented by Captain Hazard to be shot for by the non-commis-sioned officers and men of No. 2 H.R.V. took place on Saturday on the Government range. The winner turned up in Vol.- Armstrong who made 53 out of a possible 80 at 200, 400, 500, and 600 yards, the position at 200 yards being standing. The holder (Corp. Stockdale) who in the August competition score 45 out of a possible 60, on this occasion only made 31. The wind was strong and unsteady from the right. Next in order to Vol. A rm« strong were Sergeant Small 48, and Vol. White 34. Captain Hazard, who as a commissioned officer was not allowed to compete, made 54 in private practice.
