Meeting of Tairua Shareholders.

A meeting of shareholders in the Tairua Company was held at tbe Pacific Hotel last night, when the Thames and Tairua people were well represented. Mr Ehronfried was voted to the chair, and read a long report (for which we have not room) on the prospects and'condition of the com-

puny. Sonic remarks unfavourable to the late manager were indulged in. A resolution was come to to carry on the contracts of the company in progress, and proxies were given to Mr Ehrenfried to act for the shareholders here at the special meeting shortly to be held in Auckland. It was also resolved to institute a criminal prosecution if, on enquiry, it was found that there was any ground for the alleged charges of concealment of the condition of the mine.
