A requisition, signed by many influen^ tial people and a large number of others, has been presented to Mr Moorhouse, asking him to re-consider his decision as to not again standing for Mayor. He signifies his willingness to again allow himself to be nominated.
Mr Bunny's address to the electors of Warirarapa will appear on Monday. He takes up the same ground as Mr Hunter, opposing the further continuance of Provincialism and Separation, and is in favour of shire councils.:; ' •'■•■ '.; :■#■
The following are the events and prizes for the inter-provincial regatta for the 22nd of January:— Four-oared outrigger race, £150; five-oared whaleboat race, £50 ,\ four-oared batswing race, £100 j yacht race, £50—and cup, £25 ; coasters' race, £50—cup, £25 ; pair-pared race, £20 ; scullers' race, £15—and cup £5 ss; pair-oared inrigged gig race, £20.
Arrived: The. ship Avalanche, from London, with 225 immigrants; all well. She made the passage in 89 days, and had fine weather all the way; no sickness or deaths on the voyage.
This day. Dissolution of the Parliament.
' Parliament will be dissolved and the new writs issued on Monday morning. The writs run for 60 days.
