GOLDEN CALF.
The reefs No. 1 and 2, forming a junction in the drive at the bottom level, with a small show of gold induced the manager, Mr Dunlop, to test a parcel of 20 tons from No. 1 at the Tramway battery ; the t result, however, is not up to- the mark, 8 ounces melted gold being the total yield. The reefs have now diverged, and No.. 2 is being wrought with better anticipations. No. 2 is the. same reef which former manager worked with profit on the upper level, and no great; distance has to be driven before reaching the underlie of the shot of gold.
