The report of the committee appointed to enquire into Mr Macfarland's charges for laying out the cemetery, and to ascer-

The items were £68 for laying off Tararu Cemetery, with plans, and £30 for laying off the proposed new cemetery. The special committee found that the Cemetery Committee had the requisite authority, but thought that Mr Macfarland's charges were excessive, and were" further of opinion that in all future cases when the expense of a work exceeded £25 it should be first submitted to the Council.
