MAYOR AND DOKOTT&H OF THAMES V. PAEAWAI DISTEICT BOABD. This was an appeal against the assessment of the Parawai Highway District Board on the Borough Water "VV orks. Mr Tyler for appellant; Mr Macdonald for respondent. Thjs case, it was stated, was settled by agreement, the assessment being reduced from £800 to £75, respondents to pay two guineas costs. APPEALS. ADJOTTBNED. A further appeal, by the Borough Council against the Parawai assessment for the Cemetery Reserve was put back on the list for a time, as were also appeals by Edward Henry Beere, John Andrews, Frederick Clarence Deane, and Arthur i J.Bedford. Adjouened Cases. The following cases were adjourned for a fortnight at the request of pjaintiffs :— Wilkinson and Horton v. Windsor Castle . G.M Co., £9 3s for advertising ; Same v. William Percival, £2 18s for advertising. JAMES SAY T. WIEEMU TE HTJIA. Claim £2 17s lid for goods supplied. Mr Dodd for plaintiff. Judgment for amount claimed, and costs £1 9s. , „ JAMES SAY V. EBANA. Claim £118s for goods supplied. Mr Dodd for plaintiff; Mr Brassey for defendant. There was some misunderstaading as to the person served, and the case was struck out. JAMES SAY V. EOBEET HALE. Claim £18 2s for goods supplied. Mr Dodd for plaintiff; defendant did not appear. The claim was for packing goods from Puriri to Tairua. Judgment for amount claimed, and costs £3. BOBEHT CASHEL V. KAEAITIANA. Claim £18 lls Cd on a promissory note. No appearance of defendant.
Eichard Casliel, brother of plaintiff, appeared to prove the debt, but on productions of the promissory note it was found to be drawn in favour of Cashel Brothers. V".v Plaintiff was nonsuited. JOHN HEAD V. WILLIAM PILMEB. Claim of £3 money due- on account stated. Mr Macdonald for plaintiff; no appearance of defendant. Judgment for plaintiff for amount claimed, and costs 10s. WILLIAM WILSON V. "WILLIAM GREEK. Claim £13 3s 6d'for goods. Mr Macdonald for plaintiff. Defendant admitted the liability. Judgment for amount claimed, and £2 10s costs. WILLTAM WILSON AND CO. V. ROBERT HALE. Claim £13 16s 4d goods supplied. Mr Macdonald for plaintiff; no appearance of defendant. The debt was proved by Thomas Kitchen in the employ of the plaintiff. Judgment for amount claimed, and costs £2 10s. ROBERT FIELDER V. PETER HABOLD. Claim £1 4s work and labor done. No appearance of cither party; case struck out. EDWABD KING TYLEB V. PHILLIP WABBEN. Claim £2 2s for services rendered and money paid. No appearance of defendant. Judgment for amount claimed, and costs £1 10s. LESSONS V. GEO. 8. GEAHAM. Claim £15 15s for services rendered. Mr Tyler appeared for plaintiff and said this case had been adjourned by consent for a fortnight. j. c. 'hansen >v. henry smith. Claim £14 Os 9d for goods. No appearance of defendant. Judgment for amount claimed, and costs £1 9s. WILLIAM WILSON V. J. W. THOEPE. Claim £31 9s Id for goods supplied. Judgment for amount claimed, and £5 4s costs. r
