W. Fbaseb, Warden. SCHEDULE. No. I.—Late Licensed Holding, No. 55, known as the John o'Groats Claim; late licensee, the John o'Groatg Gold Miniug Company (Limited). Area, five ocres two roods and twenty two perches, more or less; situated at Pukehinau Creek. Bounded on tho north by supposed unoccupied ground, on the eust by the Rose and Shamrock Licensed Holding, on the south by suppbßed unoccupied ground, and oh the west by late Prince 'Llewellyn ldiiae. 1378 "STAMP ACT, 1875." BILLS OF LADING AND RECEIPTS IN LIEU THEKEOF. IT is hereby notified, that, after the Ist of January next, the use of Impressed Stamps on Bills of Lading is' compulsory., Such documents must, after that date, be written upon paper previously:impressed at the Head Office, and cannot be stamped after the execution thereof. Ifc is reqursted, therefore, that Merchant!, Shipping A'gdits, and others concerned, will, without delay, forward' to this office such forms as they may requ're to be'impressed, accompanied by the uiual requisition and receipt of the Bauk''of New Zealand for the amount, less the authorised discount. Information may bo obtained afc any Stamp Office. The provisions of the Act bearing on this point arc us follow :— " 47. Except where: express provision is made to the contrary,: mil duties are to be denoted by impressed stomps only." " 62. (1.) A Bill of Lading includes also any xeceipt given in lieu thereof from the master, mate, owner, or agent of any ressr], and is not to be s'amped after the execution thereof. (2.) Every person wh'o mak«s or executes any Bill of Lading not duly stamped shall forfeit a sum not exceeding £50." . SCHEDULE. . IT is hereby notified, that, after the Ist of January next, the use of Impressed Stamps upon Transfers of Shares is compulsory, but transfers of shares may be stamped at a Stamp. Office by tho Comniisjioner or a Deputy Commissioner within one month aftor oxecut:on without a fiae. Managers and Secretaries of Companies, Sharebrokers, and o:hers interested, are recommended to forward, without delay, such forms of transfer us they may require to be impressed, accompanied by the umal requisition and receipt from the Bank of New Zealand for amount thereof, less the authorized discount. • . Information may be obtained at any Stamp Office. The provisions of the Act relating hereto are as folio at :—* t? 47. (1.) Except whu'o expresß provision is ma^e to the contrary, all duties are to be denoted by i-npressed stamps only." . . * " 102. No transfer of any share or shares of or in the stock or funds of any corporation, company, or society whatever in New Zealand shall be registered, recorded, or entered in the books of :such corporation, company, or society, unless suc'i transfer is duly stamped. "103. No instrument of sale or transfer of any share "or Bharea shall be valid, either at law or in equity, unless the name of the purchasir or transferee is inse;ted therein at the" time of or before the execution of the instrument of sale or transfer j and, if any person executes a ?ale»Doto, transfer ' contract-note, or other instrument of sale or transfer, in any manner, or for any purpose whatsoever, un» less the riKme of the purchaser-" is inserted therein at the time or before the execution : thereof, he shall forfeit a sum of not less th»n. £20 or more than £100; and, if any such instrument is so made or signed, it-shall be wholly and ; absolutely void and inoperative', and shall ia no case be made available by tho insertion of a name or any other particulars afterwards ; and the person.selling or transferring such share shall nob be divested of his interest therein, but shall remain liable thereon ns if he had never sold or disposed of tho same. And if such person is a licensed sharebrokcr, his license ehull, on any conviction under this section, bj absolutely forfeited, and he shall not thereafter be qualified to uct as a broker, or to have a fresh license issued to him. " 104. No shnrebroker, auctioneer, commission agent, or tiny other person ehall be entitled to any brokerage,, commission, or ai^y other f<:e or reward in respect of the sale or transfer of any such share, unless the instrument of sale or transfer is .filled up with all necessary particulars to make it a com- [ plete instrument, and is duly stamped. ■/ SCHEDULE/ TrAjNSMB except by way of mortgage— (2 ) Upon the sale of any share or fhares in the stock and funds of any corporation, company, or society whatover t in New Zealand : Whero the purchase or consideration money,-— £ s. d.
