Sir George Grey, accompanied by Messrs Eeader Wood, Swanson, Dignan and Yon der Heyde. were received with a very enthusiastic rqcSp" jtidn. , Addresses were presented at Ohehunga, Newmarket, and Auckland,, and^tritimphalu arches erected -at the twoilStter^piaces.d The line of road was gay with flags, and the procession was accompanied from One-' hunga to Auckland by forty-five carriages and a large number •. of horsemen, which swelled as they neared Auck-. land;' ■* Several' £ :tlioidsahd.s; of people, surrounded'" the ""pKtfoi'hi and were most enthusiastic. An address was presented. The reply was brief, merely one of thanks, in which he (Sir George) stated the future rested with the people, and they would have the assistance, of the best men of the "colony in deciding thej Question* The procession accompanied him to the provincial buildings where the proceedings terminated.
