AUCKLAND RACING CLUB.
A meeting of the members of the Auckland^Eacing Club was held last (Friday) evening, for the purpose of receiving nominations for the forthcoming race 3, which will be held on the Ist and 3rd of January next. The two principal races will be for the Auckland Cup, and for the Grand Stand Handicap. For these events the prizes offered are £150 and £140, with a sweepstakes of £5 each respectively, and the number of nominations are such as to give promise of excellent sport. The rules of the races and list of the nominations are as follows: — The Auckland Cup (Handicap), of 150 soys., with a sweep of 5 soys. each added ; second horse td receive 20 soys. . from the stakes. Distance, 2 miles. Entrance, 3 soys., and acceptance 3 soys. to the funds. Weights to be declared by Wednesday, the 17th November. Acceptances to be made by 8 p.m. on Friday 3rd December. Thewmnerofanyhandicapra.ee of the value of 200 soys., after the declaration of the weights, to carry 7 lbs extra; of any race of the value of 100 soys., 3 lbs extra; of two or more such races, 7 lbs extra (extreme penalty).
