CITY OF LONDON.
The operations as carried on from the intermediate level on the cross-lode during last week have been successful beyond expectations—superior to anything the company have hitherto obtained from any part of their mine, the stopes yielded good crushing dirt from 6 feet to 10 in thickness, and during the 4| days run at Bull's battery cleared up on Saturday evening for the splendid yield of 900 ounces of hard squeezed amalgam. Every effort will be made to take oat a block before the water is on the floor, while as many men are employed as practicable in the stopes, preparations arc making for driving on No. 1 leader from the 3rd level; this reef, which went well on the. last crushing from the now flooded level, will afford stone for a long period.
