The "quarterly district in cting of the Ancient Order of Foresters was held last evening in the Lodge-room, Provincial Hotel, Princes street, when delegates from all the respective Courts in the district were present. The balance-sheet showed the Order to be in a flourishing condition. The following officers were elected for the «nsuing year :—Bro. E. Piggot, D.C.U.; Bro. A. Campbell, D.S CR. ; Bro. H. Hooper, D.S., re-elected; Bro. J. P. James, D.T., re-elected. A neck ribbon and medal were presented to P.D.C.Ii. Bro. McEwin. At the conclusion of the business of the meeting the brethren present were regaled with an ample spread, provided by Host Simmelhag, to which ample justice was done. The evening was spent in, conviviality, several excellent songs were sung, speeches given, and the usual loyal and patriotic toasts drunk with that enthusiasm which is a characteristic of the brotherhood.—Auckland Star.
