NONPAREIL.
The retirement of Mr Coutti from the management of this mine has led to the appointment of Mr John Bates as his successor, who will take charge on Monday next. Mr Bates was formerly manager of the Coliban, now of the Golden Arrow, Tairua, which ho relinquishes. In a short time the Nonpareil should come to the front, as the long and arduous task of driving from the Italian shaft towards the old workings, which formerly were worked with profit, is nearly completed, securing a block of ground with 60 feet of backs, and upon which a winze has already been sunk.
