TRADE FRAUDS.

We are making progress in the investigation of trade fraud?. Our analyst has has been* kept busy during the past? two weeks. Scores of samples hare been analyzed, and nearly all the results are before us. Three of the samples of whisky were found so immediately^ dangerous to health, if not to life igsgJjJß that our counsel has prepared compmmth under the law, and during the course of this morning we hope the necessary warrants will be served. These samples were bought from retailersV- -The;eTi- * deuce has been placed before, five of our - very best lawyers; and they "all declare that it is ample for a conviction. We shall see. Surely when it is proved by the ablest analysts, chemists, and medical experts that the stuff contains an amount of sulphuric acid destructive of healths and dangerous to life, a conviction will follow. It is electioneering times, we know, yet every citizen who does not want to be poisoned will take special interest in the proceedings. ( It n)ay perhaps not be generally known that sulphuric acid eats .into the lining of the stomach, ulcerates ifc, and induces an intense desire for more drink, soon destroying health, and finally causing death.
