The s. s. Cyphrenes arrived afc Auckland this morning, a day before her advertised time. The English news she brings, as far as it has been telegraphed to us, is of a very uninteresting character, besides which part of it has been already anticipated. The American news on the contrary is of a much more sensational nature, as will be seen by fglancing over the heads of the items telegraphed. The Russian hxp-dition seems to have been successful in its object of suppressing rebellion, while the insurrection in Turkey appears to be gaining ground. Abundant harvests in Sweden and Denmark, and the expected excellence of the hop yield may to a certain extent remedy the loss which must have been sustained in England by the disastrous floods. A frightful massacre of negroes which the authorities were powerless to check has occurred at Clinton, Mass., and property to the amount of £40,000 has been destroyed by fire, at Oil City, besides which 22 lives were lost in the steamer Equinox near Chicago.
