Sib, —I am authorised by a meeting, held here this day, to transmit to you the enclosed resolution; which was passed by it unanimously. There has not been time to do muck, but we are fully with the ! people of your district in endeavouring to get some fair share of representation ! —at least three members. Yours very truly. C. F. Mitchell 1 The Chairman of the Eepresentation meeting, Thames. Proposed by Mr H. D. Johnson and seconded by Mr John Brown —"That in the opinion of this meeting the Eepresentatiou Act laid by the Government before the House of Representatives is unfair to the Thames .electoral district, inasmuch as it only proposes to give one" additional member, although the said district comprises, besides tho Thames proper, the goldmining districts of Coromandel, Tapu, Tairua, and Ohinemuri." . , '■ ,
