General Notices VT E W ZEALAND. GOVEBNMENT LIFE INSURANCE. I—The Government Life Insurance Department issues all desirable 1o ma of Policies The Payment of every Policy is guaranteed hy the Colony. Participation in Profiii- is authorised by thu Legislature to be given to Policy holders 2- Premium rates are lower than those of Private Companies. ! 3—No Policy or Medical Pees charged. 4—All Policies are non-forfeit-able after one full annual payment to tho full extent of their value, under a special regulation providing for the continuance in- = force of every Policy for the original.amount, until the surrender-value of the Policy is exhausted in payment of premiums. s—Absolute Security from Loss. —Insurers, after having p-id three full annual premiums, are guaranteed v cash surrender value of not Jess than 40 per cent, of the paid up premiums j and if for any reason, the premiums ere not paid when due, a paidup Policy -will be issued, generally equal in amount to the premiums paid, and often much in excess. 6—Thirty days of grace are allowed on all Renewal Premiums., 7—Liberal conditions as to travelling and i-eeideuce. B—Policiesprotected from Bankruptcy- —An Insurance Policy effected by the Insured, bmafide on his own life, is protected from bankruptcy or insolvency laws to a certain amount, which increases with ita duration. Thus, after it has endured for two years, it is protected to the extent of £200; after five years, to £500; after seven yeara, to £1000; after ten years, to £2000. This protection applies only in favour of the personal representative of the Insured. 9—Married women m»y effect Polides, dispose of the money by will, as if single j and thpir Policies are protected from the debts of their husbsrds, according to duration, to amounts similar to those stated above. 10—Settlement Policies. —Policies efft-cted ft.r the benefit of the wife and childr. n of the Insured aro absolutely protected from the claims of creditors to the extent of £2000, providi d that the premiums are payable during life, or any period riot Icßß\ than eeven years. If apporti nment is not made at the time, it can be subsequently made by will. 11—Probate, &c, dispensed with? —When a claim under a Policy does not exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense with the production of Probate or Letters of Administration, thus saving great expense to the representatives of the Insured. 12—Prompt .payment of Claims^ and no discount charged. ,'"'. ■,■ W.
