James Wright.— This was a complaint brought by Mr MeIlhone, the Inspector of Miners' llights, for mining without a miner's right. Defendent said he had not, before' the plaint was laid, been in a position to take out a righti but had done so since. Fined £1 and costs. , H. Mcllhone.v. William McQuillan.— The complaint in this case was the same. Defendant said he had always held a miner's right, but owing to the illness and death of his father he had omitted to renew, it. He had since taken one out.— His Worship said he could, make no difference in this case, and fined him £1 and costs. ''■*,-,' i H. Mellhone v. James Mackay.-— Plaint for depasturing one cow on the Goldfields without having a depasturing license. Defendant said he had only one cow and had since taken out a miners right and a depasturing license. Fined 5s and costs. . H. Mellhone v. Hugh Mackay. Complaint the same. —Defendant had. since taken out a miners' right and dopastHi'ing license. He had four cows depastured. Fined 40s and costs.—ln reply to a question as to the alternative, His Wor ship informed him that he must sell his cows &c , if need.be,
H. IV^cllbone v. A. McCullura. Plaint the same.—Two little calves were depastured. License and miner's right since taken out. Fined 5s «nd costs.
