This day.
A destructive fire occurred in George street this morning at 2 a.m. Eobertson's and Scott's drapers' shops were burnt to the ground. The police, andVtow.nspeqp|e rendered every assistance in saving g^oods, but owing to the scarcity of water, the amount saved is not large. Scott is insured in the New Zealand Office. Robertson, who has just commenced business, was unfortunately not insured.
