. Friday. Tol-a tea.—The 50 lbs of specimens and picked stone crushed for a yield of 269 ozs retorted gold. The mine generally is showing up well, particularly the Van level. Eeported a parcel of good stone to-day.

The City of Auckland intend starting crushing about 130 tons of stuff early next week.

Eoyal Oak.—The parcel of rich stuff from the mine has caused a little excitement here. The next stope is expected to turn out well. The winze is down 18 feet.

Union Beach.—Nothing new reported from the mine during the day.

Whangapoua.—The Rose, cutter, has arrived from Mercury Bay. The Waratah and Start, cutters, arrived last night. The Oipheus is loading for Napier. Ryley and Sons' boat is loading with timber.
