WELLINGTON.
This day,
After a great deal of discussion last night'as previously, and with amendments both from the Government supporters and the Opposition, the Abolition Bill was pushed as far as the 22nd clause, which at the request of the Government was struck out when progress was reported. Although the Government evinced every desire to meet all reasonable amendments, and accepted several, the general principles of the bill were not materially altered. The House adjourned at 1.15 a.m.
