General Notices ,ftT E' W -ZEALAND. GOVERNMENT LIFE INSURANCE. I—The Government Life Insurance Deioartment issues all desirable forms of Policies. TJte Payment of every Policy is guaranteed by the Colony. Parti. cipation in Profits is authorised by the Legislature to be given to Policy-holders. 2-Premium rates are lower than those of Private Companies. 3—No Policy or Medical Pees charged. 4—All Policies are non-forfeit-able after one full annual payment to th»^ full extent oi their value, under a Bpecial^ regulation providing.for the continuance in force of every Policy for the original amount, until the surrender' Value of the Policy is ex- ' haußted in payment of premiums. s—Absolute Security from Loss* —Insurers, after having paid three full annual premiums, are guaranteed a cash surrender value of not less than 40 per cent. of. the paid-up premiums ; and if for aßy reason the premiums ore not paid when due/a paidup Policy will be issued, generally equal in amount to the premiums paid, and often much in excess. 6—Thirty days of grace are allowed on all Renewal Premiums. 7—Liberal conditions a» to travelling and residence. B—Policies protected from Bankruptcy.—An Insurance Policy effected bj the Insured, Imajide on his own life, is protected from bankruptcy or insolvency laws to a certain amount, which increases with itr duration. Thus, after.it haß endured for two . years, it is protected to the extent of £200; after five years, to £500; after, seven years, to £1000; after ten years, to £2000. This protection applies only in favour of the personal repreeentative of the Insured. 9—Married women may effect Policies, dispose of the money by will, bs if single j and lluir Policies nro protected from the debts of tbeiv busbards, according to duration, to amounts similar to these stated above. 10—Settlement Policies.—Policies effected*-for the benefic of t)io wife and children of tlio Insured aro absolutely protected from the claims of creditors to the extent of £2000, provid» d that, the premiums are payable during life, or any period not less than seven years. If apportionment is not made at the time, it can be subsequently made by will. 11—Probate, &c, dispensed with —When a claim under a Policy docs'not exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense with the production of Probate or Letters of Administration, thus saving great expense to the representatives of the Insured. 12—Prompt ..payment of Claims and no discount charged.
