TO THE ELECTOES OF THE BOEOUGH. TI7ITH all due respect to the Council, it is important that you who are to elect three members on Thursday should remember that we are exceeding our income at the rate of over £2,000 per annum | and what bare we to show for it—one or two streets well attended to, while all who live on the outskirts may climb to their places as they please—no money for these works, but the Kate-collector will find your place nevertheless. If you are satisfied with this state of matters, then DO NOT TOTE FOR McGOWAN. Now, is there any reason why you should Tote for him ?—Because he is the only Candidate who has plainly stated hi 3 views without button-holing or canvassing. Let us not be sunk in debt with nothing to show for it, for I suffer with you. Yours respectfully, 1040 JAMES McGOWAN.
