In sinking the main shaft fair progress is made ; on reaching the 4.W feet mark, or 50 feet below the present working level, which wholly supplies the requirements of the battery, a leader in the north-eastern side of the shaft has been cut, and a veritable gold-bearing stone broughtto the surface. The chief value attached to this is the fact that gold is continued with the deeper levels. The position and character of the leader go to prove that it is part and parcel of No. 2 reef, which on further sinking will be demonstrated. .
