GOLDEN CROWN.
The manager P. Donnelly, has been for the last few days engaged in testing portions of old workings with 10 head of stampers at the company's mill, which is in first rate trim. The show is deemed satisfactory, though of a low grade, and 15 stampers are now at work during day shift. Two gangs of workmen are employed, one in breaking out on No 3 or Mariukau reef in the intermediate level above the 100 feet, where the supply is large; the other party are working on footwall leader from No JL towards No 2 reef/? 0 feet from the surface. The result of these trials will be shown when a sufficient quantity is put through the mill, to warrant conclusions as to the payable character of the stone dealt with in large parcels.
