General Notices \ T E W ZEALAND. GOVERNMENT LIFE INSURANCE. I—The Government Life Insur-. ance Department issues all desirable forma of Policies. The Payment of every Policy is guaranteed by the Colony, Participation in Profits is authorised by the Legislature to be given to Policy-holders. 2- Premium rates are lower tlwn those of Private Companies. 3—No Policy or Medical Fees charged. * 4—All Policies are non-forfeit-able after one full annual payment to the full extent of their value, under a specul regulation providing for the continuance in force of every Policy for the original amount, until the surrender-value of the Policy is exhausted in payment of premiums, v s—Absolute Security from Loss. —Insurers, after having pnid three full annual premiums, are guaranteed a cash surrender value of not less than 40 per cent, of the paid up premiums ; and if for any reason the premiums ore not paid when due, a paidup Policy will be iesued, generally equal in amount to the premiums paid, and often much in excess. 6—Thirty days of grace are allowed on all Renewal Premiums. 7— Liberal conditions as to travelling and residence. B—Policies protected from Bankruptcy.—An Insurance Policy effected by the Insured, benajide on his own life,, is protected from bankruptcy or insolvency laws, to a certaia amount, which increases with its duration. Thus, after it has endured for two years, it is protected to the extent of £200; after five years, to £500; after seven years, to £1000; after ten years, to £2000. This protection npplies only in favour of the personal representative of the Insured. 9—Married women may effect Poli-. cies, di?pose of the money by will, as'if single j and their Policies are protected from the debts of their husbands, according to duration, to amounts similar to those stated above. 10—Settlement Policies—Policies effected fcr the benefit of the wife and children of the Insured are absolutely protected from the claims of creditors to the extent of £2000, providrd that the premiums are payable during life, or any period not less than seven years. If apportionment is not made at the time, it can be subsequently made by will. 11—Probate, &c, dispensed with —When a claim under a Policy does not exceed £200, the Commissioner may dispense with the production of Probate or Letters of Administration, thus saving great expense to the representatives of the Insured. 12—Prompt.,payment of Claims and no discount charged.
