THE FAKIR OF OOLU.
Ifc will be seen on referring" to our advertisement columns that M> 8./ J. i DeLias has made arrangements for the appearance at the Academy of Music for a short season of the world-renowried illusionist, Dr Sylvester, commonly known as the Fakir of Oolu.-and that the opening entertainment will be given next Saturday night. It is scarcely necessary, to say much in favor of the Fakir/ who has been honored with columns of the most favorable notices in the home and colonial press, all the papers agreeing— from the Times downwards—that the Fakir is unequalled as a conjuror and illusionist. Besides the usual tricks of the accomplished conjuror, Dr. Sylvester introduces a,fairy fountain which has been pronounced the perfection of beauty in its combinations of form and color. He has also a talking lion, and a decapitated head (human), and perhaps the greatest, wonder of all is .the suspension of a young lady in mid air without any visible support. As far as we can learn the Fakir is a perfect master of his art.
