This day. Mr Fitzherbert's speech,.,of characteristic length, was a complete failure—a weary harangue that sent many hon. members to sleep. James Mackay's boisterous spirit led him into cheeky indiscretionswhilst giving evidence at committee. It is said there have been strange disclosures re Ohiuemuri miners' rights. The meeting at Bull's, Bangitikei, passed unanimous resolutions in favor of immediate abolition.
