AUCKLAND.
This day. At the Franklin electors' meeting at Papakura a proposal was made in favor of immediate abolition. An amendment that, the bill should not become law was carried by 1-3 against 7. The meeting concluded with three cheers for Sir George Grey. Tuakau (Waikato) passed a resolution in favor of the Government measures with few dissentients.
